Vela Bay 首航
Vela Bay (首航) is a 99-year leasehold residential development. It is located at Bayshore Drive, right next to the Bayshore MRT. It is one of the most anticipated developments in the east in 2026. Vela is derived from the Latin words for "sail". The Chinese name of Vela Bay means "maiden voyage", as it is the first new private residential development in the Bayshore precinct. Singhaiyi had submitted a top bid of $658.89 million and was awarded the site by the Government Land Sale (GLS) program in March 2025.
Vela Bay comprises two 31-storey residential towers with a total of 515 residential units, which are directly linked to the Bayshore MRT station.Vela Bay is located just opposite East Coast Park, separated by the East Coast Parkway (ECP). In the future, residents will have scenic waterfront views towards East Coast Park, Long Island, and an enclosed reservoir. Long Island will also create more space for residential, commercial, and recreational purposes.
There will be an estimated 3,000 private residential units within the Bayshore precinct in the future. Thus, Vela Bay will have the early-mover advantage over future developments as it is strategically located within the Bayshore precinct. The developer, Singhaiyi, will offer a wide range of 1-bedroom to 5-bedroom layouts. Full condominium facilities are provided within the development. Approximately 72% of the units are sea-facing.
